Hi All,

It's been ages since I have been on the forum to touch base with fellow SEAT owners, I hope your all well and looking forward to Christmas (I guess it’s the busyness of life and the lack of motoring done in the LCR)..
I need some help and advice from fellow LCR owners with regards to servicing and dealerships; I am not sure whom is best within the South East.

As usual I ran a search on the site and I didn’t want to respond to the following thread as its more of a 'general' review of dealers to either rate/slate them, hence creating a new one:

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=26545

I wanted to know if there are any normal SEAT garages that would service my LCR with plenty of TLC and are armed with great technicians to get the job done right... After giving the car a quick clean last week and a top up of fuel I noticed the interval message on the mfd - about 10days to go for service.

The car has covered approximately 2,500miles since new from Dec 2011 and I am looking to get it serviced by a reputable dealer within my area if possible but am happy to travel if need be... The only other fix needed outside of the service is the right tailpipe, it appears to be slightly close to the rear diffuser and was hoping this could be straightened and/or re-clamped.

What is normally covered in the 1st service and what are the gotcha's I should look out for (if any) i.e. specific oil, anything extra or needing to be done within the 1st service?

Many Thanks!

I would have thought he is in the South East, somewhere a bit more specific might be better though mate.

Did you go back and complain? If I had that kit in my car I definitely would. It's terrible techs think they can treat peoples pride and joy like an old banger.

Still debating it to be honest, i think from now on they will be instructed not to drive the car without me in it

Sure you can. Block exemption ruled that sh1t out years ago.

A friend of mine has a Focus RS and due to being serviced by a specialist, Ford tried to get out of some warranty work on it. After complaining the work was eventually done but they tried there best make an issue out of the fact it hadn't been serviced by Ford.

I guess unless you date an times still attached they'll deny it completely! My car visits the dealers as little as possible

Got date time and exactly what roads he was on, was very erratic driving can see the speed log speeding up very quickly and slamming on the breaks

Yeah that'll always happen if the dealers an arse but the fact of the matter is EU legislation states that you can't be penalised regarding warranty just because your car's service hasn't been carried out by a dealer.

You'd assume dealers would know that then. Just another reason for the dealer to be a pain in the arse as usual.

Really sorry to hear about your service matey, you must have been proper upset :( - this is exactly what I am afraid of as I know it happens listening to the banter etc…

I am quite intrigued on the GPS setup you have... any chance you could PM me or let me know the kit detail i.e. to work out potential costings and the service offered?
