140 or 170?

Hi all,
Does anyone know which is the most reliable engine, the 170 or the 140? I got the chance of a FR & a Special Edition & was wondering if either engine has any gremlins or any problems that rear their ugly heads. Both cars have mileages that are late 30,000 & about the same price (£7000ish) 2007 models.
What do i look for on the test drive etc?

My turbo let go on my 140 at 45k and it is said the turbo is a weak point on them but the 170 has a lot more injector issues along with DPF issues which the 140 doesn't have equipped, looking at the problems though on the Leon side of it the 170's tend to have more issues

Depends on the age,didn't they use a different turbo from 2006 on with the 140's?
mines coming up to 60k with no issues touch wood!
I think you'd be ok with either at 30k mate!

Thanks guys, i'm off to look at a "Special Edition" after Christmas, put a deposit (refundable) down to save it til i take it for a test drive.
