Hi all

Looking at getting one of these. Been offered a '62 plate with 2k miles for 19k by a dealer. This seems a little toppy, but interested to hear what the boards think?

Also out of curiosity, anyone who has leased - when negotiating do the dealers have the ability to adjust the interest rate or is it really only the list price which they are flexible on?

Thanks in advance

you should be able to pin them down to a very low rate on a brand new car like that

they will try and quote you a flat rate of 7 - 8 percent initially which is daylight robbery.

shouldnt be any more than 3 to 3.5%. when i was looking last year one place was quoting 2.9% which is around 6% apr which is as good a high street banks. at times some of the mainstream dealers have 0% deals on

as for leasing i dont know how there rates work id imagine it will be on the list price of the car at a guess as your not likely to own the vehicle at the end of the term

Thanks marty_34 Yes for new they are offering 0% APR, but looking at the configuration tool online, they don't seem to be offering many options as presumably they are just getting rid of residual stock to make way for new ones. For leasing they are presently quoting 8.4% APR and don't offer 0% second hand.

Indeed unlikely to keep the car at the end I think.

I'm being a bit of a dolt - could you explain the significance/relationship between the 3-3.5% & the 2.9% figures you quoted and the APR?

Many thanks

Its loan arrangement and option to purchase charge. On a 5 yr hp deal if you roughly double flat rate thats the apr

I got my CR170 SC supposedly at cost + £1. I reckon that's a bit of a sales con to be honest but brand new it was well below the £19k you're being quoted, but above the £17800 mentioned above. Leather and winterpack would add a bit more to the price as would the sunroof if you have that all included in the cars you're looking at. Mine was not ex-demo, and was registered to me as the first keeper and had 23 miles on the clock.

Bought my Supercopa with winter pack and black wheels for £21k (pound notes cash) - my PX'd 2010 Exeo).

I'm probably the one here with the worst deal of all

Mine was 19K and I also had a credit note for accessories to the value of £400 to spend on extras. Over 3 years with gap paying £255.00 pcm

Not the best but not too bad was paying same a month on the Bocanegra

Forgot to mention I had a hefty discount on the car due to all the problems that I had with the Bocanegra. I saved 3K on the car and have the 3 years free servicing deal as well. :D:D this was the main reason I bought the Supercopa instead of the Focus ST. Have the same power out put as the ST with less lay out on the car.

Thanks for all the replies guys, its useful to know the new buy price so with a couple of thousand on the clock, I can hopefully push for a better deal as its coming up to their year end also..

Will probably go down the leasing option, I think, has anyone actually managed to get them down to a lower APR than, than the 8.4%.

Also, am I daft going for a SC instead of waiting for the new chassis? Thoughts & opinions most welcome..

Thanks

It's the choice between a run out model with all the known issues and weaknesses already overcome, and loads of toys fitted as standard, or waiting for the first of the new ones. I reckon most with a Supercopa on here would argue that they bought theirs for all of the above plus they like shape etc. and got a good deal on them. The new chassis will not be so good for discounts in the early days I reckon, plus it isn't quite so brave in the looks dept. Though it will have the latest tech and mechanical bits, better quality materials and you know it's the current shape which after 6 months I reckon will make the old shape look old, but will cost more to buy.

I guess it depends how much it bothers you having the "old shape".

Was that brand new? Didn't know you could spec black mirrors. If so it was a proper bargain.
yh brand new first reg keeper, the mirrors and spoiler didnt come from factory like it they was painted at the dealer. I was quoted 19.5k from one dealer without leather so went to another dealer and pushed for a bit more until I got what I wanted. Some dealers didnt want to know, prob not enough profit in it by the time all the extras went on.
