decat eml light and 02 spacer

hi all. iv just fitted at scorpian decat pipe to my cupra r and havnt yet fitted an o2 spacer, iv been out in the car 5 or 6 times since fitting it and havnt had the eml light on? is this normal or should it of come on straight away?

Iv always thought it should come on straight away, you cars a bit slow to pick it up

I had a pre cat eml light on the other month but reset it with vagcom. But this was with the cat on? I might just rescan it and see what it does,!

Mine has been decatted and has only come on once, reset it and it hasn't come back on but no doubt it will come back on soon lol.

iv got an o2 spacer as it came through the post yesterday but cant be bothered gettin back under the car to fit it so ill wait till the light comes on the reset and fit it.

yeah i spoke too soon it came on yesterday on the way back home from chester. luckily i had my tourqe app and obd bluetooth on me so just reset it while i wasdriving along lol. goin fit the o2 spacer tomorrow or wednesday.

what is the spacer we need? i say we, i have the 180 so not sure if the sensor is different? didnt want to buy the incorrect one!

Not sure if its the same but I've used the 90deg spacers on Golf 1.8ts in the past.

I just used a 90 degree elbow spacer off eBay and its done the trick with mine!

Was the re map already done in the car before you had it? Only reason I'm asking is because when I had a custom map done the decat was written into the map so I didn't need a 02 sensor hence no light.

On mine the remap was already on yes and it's a custom code one but I had the cat eml on and it was the post cat so since fitting the spacer it's gone away!

Im fitting a decat tomorrow couldn't I just put a sleeve around the sensor and tie it up somewhere

I don't kno it may come up running too lean as its wont be sensing anything other than fresh air. The spacers are cheap off eBay and is done the trick on mine
