Ibiza 6k2

Hello, after owning a 6n polo, then a 6k polo saloon I'm currently looking for a 6k2 ibiza.

I have found a garage local to me selling a silver 6k2 ibiza on a 2002 plate with 83k miles. Model is a 1.4 chill so has the electric windows, central locking, power steering etc. Has service history along with a timing belt change. Car and interior looks clean with no signs of rusting (as I can tell only from the pictures) although the door handles inside the car look a little faded.

It has 12 months MOT and no tax.

Roughly what are the prices of similar ibizas? I know this is hard without seeing the car in person but the car is up for £1695 which seems a little high to me.

Many thanks in advance

1k too high! I've seen cupras go for less.

Yeah seems really high, although looking on ebay/autotrader the majority of 6k2 ibizas (not too far from me) are going for 1200+ and the ones that aren't are sheds.

Thanks for your reply

I sold my 1.4 3 years ago for £1500. That was a 2001 on coilovers, cupra interior, cupra healights, RS rep alloys.

I didn't find insurance too bad on my old Cupra. At 20 with mods it was £1000 and it had dropped to £800 when I sold it last year, which is the same as what I'm now paying on my 330.

Buying from a garage you will always pay more than the equivalent private sale. Two reasons:
The garage has overheads to pay (and must make profit)
Warranty

And if the sale goes through the books, you're paying VAT as well.

On a side note, the amount of people that turn up to view a car at £800-1500 and walk away because "it's got stone chips" or "there is wear on the spare wheel" is ridiculous. Those two are genuine scenarios that have occurred to me as well!

I'm 21 and still paying £1200 on a 1.6 polo saloon :( haha

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places but doesn't seem to be many 6k2s around? Ebay and autotrader aren't showing too many results. Is there any other places?

Remember to put as many womans on your insurance policy as named drivers. It always bring the insurance down. On my Cupra the insurance dropped by almost £700! Just because I had my mum as a named driver, worth a try dude.
