Double detergents and some fancy lubricant for a clean smooth engine internals.

I'll be sticking with fuel save.

might give it a tank of nitro+ every couple of paydays as a treat.

Price is still the same as the old v-power. I used it today, as said its just meant to make ur engine cleaner. I could notice any different in the drive ect.

ohh so has it just replaced v-power then ?

It would appear so, yes. They dont have an extra pump for the nitro, its where the old vpower used to be. So im guessing its just replaced it? Price is the same also (at the moment anyway, (could be intro price?))

You would need a few tanks to notice any difference if there is any, any really worth it on turbo cars.

I saw this earlier on and wondered what was occurin lol, but I had under 10miles in the tank so filled up with £10 for now and ill put some more in tomorrow doubt there's a difference just more cleaning agents and additives for less friction 25% supposedly

There is a new one supposedly called V power nitro + racing at 102ron but at certain garages

Here's what Shell have to say about it :

Shell V-Power Nitro+ Unleaded

After months of extensive testing, we have created a performance fuel to help your car achieve its performance potential. Developed with Scuderia Ferrari, this new formulation is designed to instantly get to work in your engine on deposits which can reduce performance. We have also increased the friction modifier content by 25%*. The friction modifier is designed to reduce friction in critical engine areas, helping to deliver more power to the wheels. Put simply, this is Ferrari's choice for improved performance.

Shell V-Power Nitro+ Unleaded Benefits

Protecting Cylinder Walls – Our Friction Modification Technology is designed to instantly reduce friction between the piston assembly and cylinder wall by coating them with a protective film.

Cleaner Intake Valves and Fuel Injectors – Designed to prevent and clean up deposits that can affect performance. Shell V-Power Nitro+ contains special additives to help stop performance-robbing deposits from building up around the intake valves and fuel injectors.

In comparison to our previous Shell V-Power Unleaded, we have rebalanced the formulation to contain 25% more Friction Modification Technology (FMT). This technology has been tested with Ferrari as part of our long standing technical partnership, and is designed to instantly reduce friction in critical engine areas and thereby help the engine to deliver more power to the wheels.

* Compared to our previous Shell V-Power Unleaded formulation

I've been fuelling my wife's old (2002) Polo 9N 1.4 16v 75PS with V-Power for the past 6 or so months, mainly to suppress pinking initially and to attempt to clean out some of the carbon build up that was maybe causing the pinking. Strange thing is, with this engine's ECU settings, it should not be able to adapt to optimising timing for this higher octane fuel - but the general feel when driving has been transformed - well any change in feel with that 1.4 16v 75PS engine is very welcome. Now, if I go back to using ordinary Shell my wife would give me a lot of grief - I did not expect that improvement from using higher octane fuel on an engine that is not meant to be able to make best use of it, though it could be down to the car having S/W level that is not what it should be - despite VW claiming that model had no updates from that car's build date!

As said, any car needs at least 3 or 4 tank fills to get the ECU to fully adapt to the different fuel - well petrol engine do anyway. Sticking in £10 worth will not let you break the sound barrier!

Ive been using vpower since I got the car from new 6 months ago never put any different into it, from what I have read its the same as vpower anyways apart from the additives to reduce the friction same Ron number unless you get the racing so putting £10 wouldnt make a difference, I did this to remove the leftovers of the remaing normal vpower from my tank

Ha Ha, well spotted - NOT!

I was one of these people using Shell back in the dark days when their UL with lots of good additives caused almost an entire fleet of police Viva HC and Chevette etc to need engine rework - I never used Shell again until a few years ago as I trusted that they had smartened up their game, so that was the reason why I used their UL+ fuel in the Polo - and their fuel station was on our weekend shopping route. I tend to use Esso all the time in the Passat, so started trying their UL+ in that one - it is rated for 95>98 RON fuel.

I've found that it is difficult to find out exactly what RON the V-Power is - that should be stated on the pump. What else is strange why Shell/Esso/BP do not offer the same RON on their UL+ fuels - then Tesco imports 99 RON from Europe, wierd.
