Hi
I have a Mk 2 Leon (2009). Would like to get the VAG COM/VCDS tool.
Can some kind person point me in the right direction as to what I need to buy please?

Obviously I can get the whole thing from Ross Tech - but it's a bit pricey. So happy with a working 3rd party version.
So where to get the cable and software?

I saw a link to http://dx.com/p/hex-can-vag-com11-11-car-diagnostic-tool-black-126755#specification
I think that cable is compatible. But what is the software included?
Other things that concern me are that I've read there may be version compatibility problems.
And also may not work on Windows 7 64 bit.

So can anyone please clear up my confusion of what to buy.

Thanks

Pete

Thanks Ben.
£50 isn't too bad.. although bit pricier than the one from DX at $20 (if suitable). But would prefer to buy from UK and for one that works :)

I ended up buying the genuine Ross-Tech cable, I did not want to keep spending £20-£50 each time on a cable that might not do all the features and might brick itself.

I used to have one. It was ****.

I had a mate who bought a cheap cable and it fried his ECU.

Buy cheap buy twice.
