Converting to Non-Power Steering.

Nah but won't need the lines pump ressy etc.

Always preferred non power steering

I thought that rack too but think there only 18mm spline to column and sure the Ibiza is 22mm?!

Didn't know if the rack would be too short to meet the column also?!

go ahead and try it out, if it works its something id consider too. i hate pas , its noisy smelly leaks and saps a few bhp!

That's interesting tucker. It's just the spline fitting the UJ on the column I'm worried about. Think they would mount the same.

Thought I read Bill had done it to his race car but unsure lol

Lists as it fits our model, i will check the spline size tomorrow. Is the spline size ofthe cupra 22mm for sure?

That manual rack says 38 tooth spline... Must be number of splines not just size?

They don't look the same... But then again ETKA pics are shoddy at best of times!! If you do an ETKA search with the part number of our rack it should come back with other models?

1st is a mk2 Ibiza non power but same rack as the golfs etc but the column UJs differ

Digging about I'm sure power steering is 22 splines and 18 for Manual.

Thinking if you swop rack and and both UJs off the rack and column it might work as the joiner for the 2 UJs is the same part number just fits other way around (of the picture is spot on)

So just change the rack and the 1st half of the UJ? Maybe a small mod of the joining piece?

I'm in the middle of trying to do the same thing on an e30 BMW, can I hell find the correct UJ!!!
