what to replace coilovers with

I made the stupid mistake of putting substandard coilovers on the car and have ruined the ride etc...

the apex rdx coilovers are coming off next few days but not sure what to put back on... there was some standard S3 shocks and springs on ebay but im guessing as its a quattro they won't fit..

Has anyone used some decent shock/ spring set up they can recommend... something that will give my ride comfort back... cant be crashing over every bump in the road just to be low..

Running Vogtland shocks and springs, doesnt feel too bad as its my daily, run 50/30 setup. No complaints.

Standard shocks with eibach springs is the perfect combo for fast road use!

Thanks for the reply Damian. I hadnt really thought about budget, I don't really want to sped any more that I did on the apex coilovers. Any suggestions that would improve the ride in that price bracket? I know now coilovers are overkill for me, I don't want that much of a drop and I don't need the adjustability.

too many people go for coilovers when spring/shocks upgrade would be better for most unless you want to slam the car.

I expect Damian would recommend weitecs, but really a rough budget would give different options.

Jasc's recommendation is a great set up, although im unsure of the price..

@andy cupra yeah I know your right, it's just some very cheap coilovers came up an I thought if I didn't slam the car it would work as an upgrade, plus at their price point their not far away from the weitec so thought they'd have a similar level of comfort. I had to replace a shock and spring anyway. Even with the things wound all the way up it's destroyed the ride. The apex coillies come in at about £450, I didn't want to spend much more than that.

I know exactly what you mean and i read many thread where people say how great some coilovers are, - usually cheap ones and i cant help think peopel confuse a hard crashy ride with an improvement...

the weitec spring / shock is about £380?

They look pretty good for the price... I'm guessing the difference should be night and day when compared to the coilovers

You'd notice a difference in ride going from coilovers back to springs and shocks and the Weitec by KW Ultra GT is one of the best options out there.
