The red coolant light on the temp gauge flashes up randomly accompanied by the beep, i went to a local "so called VAG specialist", he assured me that it would definitely be the coolant level sensor in the expansion tank, so i have replaced the tank, it was ok for a couple of drives, but came on again today!! after turning off the car and restarting it was gone again, my scanner is currently round a mates so can't get any fault codes at the moment, does the coolant temp sensor also trigger this same light and alarm?? couldn't find anything in the search

duston northants
its the sensor in the header tank
if it was the thermostat or anything else the car would overheat
just keep the coolant level slightly over filled by about 10mm and see what happens as it has cured several ive done
