Hey chaps,

Wondering if it's possible to changes the the ARB bushes on the LCR without dropping the sub frame. Planning on doing the dogbone bushes this week and was considering on doing the ARB at the same time whilst I have it on stands.

Thanks

No need to drop the subframe whatsoever, just undo the droplink to make things easier, also a pair of long-nosed molegrips to hold the clamp on with the new bush in place just whilst you get the bolt in a few turns.

If its an lcr

The arb is 19mm

They come in 2 forms - some are sleeved and some are unsleeved, the plastic sleeve causes issues and becomes brittle over time

This isnt an issue though as you simply break the sleeves off and fit 17mm bushes

Always fit 17mm for a tight fit this is how your car came from the factory

Basically any size arb fit 2mm smaller bushes

If anyone would like to contradict me i can supply photo's with electronic verniers

I found on my LCR with the sleeves it was 21mm, I then removed them as they were cracked and falling off and the bar itself was 19mm.

And standard bushes are 17mm from the factory (as you can see the bush has stetched slightly over time but quite obviously was a 17mm bush

It's very helpful if you can get hold of slightly longer bolts to help reach the other hole of the bracket whilst fitting - pinching the bracket together with the new bush in place is a bloody difficult task - and a slimline (potentially 1/4") ratchet is also useful because there's not a lot of clearance for tools.
