Diesel Specialist Nottingham / Mansfield?

Still having problems with my car being in the usual limp mode!

After going to my usual garage and having spent over £150 and got no where I'm now looking to take the car, Mk1 FR+ (150), to a specialist as I'm guessing its either sticky vanes or Turbo actuator. Fault code that eventually comes up shows Overboosting.

Did look at having a go at the Mister Muscle cure but gave up. The last engine I spent any time working on was a mk2 Golf GTI!!!! Gave up on the Leon as its all too tightly packed and I've not got the time or patience for it nowdays.

Want someone who knows what they are doing with this common problem please??????

There's also JMC Automotve at Sutton (next to B&J), Stoneleys at Mansfield (will do you a diagnostic check if you book it in), and There's one at Sutton Junction that's supposed to be good.

Thanks Guys am paying a visit to audiA3 over the next couple of days so hopefully I'll know a bit more then.

Used to go to C&R with my old Mk2 Golfs and they are good if a little pricey.
Anyone got any personal experiences of the ones at Sutton & Mansfield?

Iirc the code was control limit not reached and it looks to me like the n75 isn't playing ball. That said there would be no harm in blocking the egr off aswell. Defo not sticky vanes. Swap the n75 and egr solanoid over and see if any change!

Check the plastic hose from vac pump to brake servo, bet its cracked around when the vac take off is for n75 valve

Been on the case this afternoon. Swapped the N75 and N18 but it made no difference:cry:

While putting it all back as it was, wondered what sort of pressure would be needed to activate the turbo actuator. Blew into the pipe, please don't take the piss too much :p and there was some resistance initially, blew harder and then no pressure. Found a hole in the pipe where it went through a plastic clip!!

After all that the thing I first asked the garage to check was all the pipes and connections which they said they'd done. We're going to have a little chat tomorrow about the new MAF and Map sensor I've paid for no reason! :handbags:

Thanks to audiA3 for his time last night. Explained things as simply as he could, gave me hope that it wasn't sticky vanes and that there was still a chance it wasn't gonna cost me a packet to get it repaired:D

Whilst this method of madness worked I'd like to just make you aware that the turbo control operates via vacuum on the VNTs not pressure. You'd have to suck to drag the actuator rod up but failing that, fair play! :)
