Holy sh*t that's low. Fair play for still being static though! I thought it looked low enough in the 3rd pic. Hows the ride is it not really harsh?

Surely it's ruined the whole suspension set up and the way it rides and handles ???

Used to it now tbh. Cant say it handles horrifically tbh as i don't throw it round corners or anything to really test the handling. It drives in a straight line and goes round a corner so other than that i cant comment. Speedbumps are becoming an issue though but the sump on these 1.4s are so high up you hit the downpipe before anything else.

Have you thought about an air set up (just thinking of your bones shaking lol !)

Yeh ive seen a few different set ups but they are very hit and miss on the mk5's with how low they go... I was almost as low as my mates mk5 which was on air and im close now to another lad who has a different set up which got him lower than that now.

Cant justify spending all that cash on it tbh as im likely to only keep it another year before i move on.

I must be getting old, I don't understand this obsession with going as low as you can, ruins the handling and ride quality and seems to destroy the arches of your car and probably shreds perfectly good tyres.

Each to their own and fair play for doing what you want and not just doing what you think others will like but it's not for me, rest of the car looks very nice just too low imo, as long as you enjoy it that's all that matters :)

Any car looks good low; this being no exception. I wanted to stay static so went for a 50mm air helper system on the front which allows me to raise the nose at a switch of a button for those pesky bumps and humps, whilst keeping the handling charactorisitics and static looks. I've had this a couple of years now; given my time again I would have gone full airride like Derek...

Hope you're sticking with the wheels for a while longer? Love em :)

Love the car and what you've done with it mate.
Im looking at upgrading from 35mm apex, to bilstein b14 coilys. I have the same issue with tyres rubbing if I have people in the back.
How much stretch did you have to have in order for it to clear the tyre?
Current set up is 17" 7.5J TT comps 215/40 tyres. 10mm spacers on the rear. 5mm on the front.
I know a few people where in live (essex) that have been pulled for stretched rubber.

I have 215/35 R18's on the fronts which are soon to be 205's as i need the extra clearance. Never had an issue with stretch though so maybe im just lucky.
