Thanks boosthard that's the link I was looking for , as I said the videos are for a friend who is attempting his first rebuild , I was going to do the work for him but he had now decided he wants me to help him do it so he can learn about his engine. so I suggested watching the videos to give him a visual idea at what he is going to be doing instead on just reading threads

You can do rods without removing the head if you want

Surely the only way to do that then would be remove the crank and oil squirters as you need access to the side of the piston to remove the circlip and wrist pin
Then to assemble you would need to remove the cams so all the valves were closed otherwise in spinning the crank to access the caps and bolts you would bend valves
