Evening all,
My car ('03 LCR) has this annoying problem that I'm trying to get to the bottom of - namely that when cold she'll lose all power for the first 5 minutes on pull away. When she does this I can hear rushing gas, which then disappears once the boost is back on. This makes for a very jerky pull away with no power. I have a blow from the exhaust up by the turbo ( a whole different story...) and when the boost goes the blow becomes noticeably louder, hence why I think wastegate or something related.
Now, it only does this on cold starts and only until the car is up to temp. I thought N75, but surely this would do it all the time? Would I be thinking along the right lines in thinking that the wastegate actuator is sticking and as it warms the moving parts are freed up, stopping the boost loss?
I've not done any tests whatsoever and am just going on what I can hear and what the car does at this point.
Any help is appreciated!
