They've asked us not to talk about it, and I'm happy to go along with that. They were happy enough for some folk to get photos on their phone, so you might see some of those. I didn't bother personally.

Amazing is not the word, it was mental! But like Phil said we can't talk about it until the 15th March. I suppose all the waiting around was worth it :-D

Yep, 14th or 15th or thereabouts. I guess I was quite lucky in the end by going first. Not so much sitting around.
The car is great. Looks better in the flesh than in the pictures, or at least I thought it did. Goes like stink too. The leather seats are surprisingly subtle: there are no logos on them.

It was worth it. You'll have a different sort of fun at your dealer.
I might actually visit my local dealer and bombard them with questions that I know the answer to and they don't.
One thing I did learn that I can probably say is that not all dealers are going to get demo cars, or at least not straight away. There is a surprisingly large number of SEAT dealers in the UK.
Are their any answers to questions you may have asked that won't be divulged in the 14 or 15 th date ? Ie colours or specs ?

What a great day!!! A bit of waiting around due to "technical" errors. Sadly as confirmed we have to remain tight lipped about certain aspects of todays event but I can assure you, on the 15th when all is revealed you will hopefully be as amazed as we were by what we experienced. It was fantastic to finally see this car in the metal and as mentioned before it really is rather pleasing to the eye. Now, I know many of you are complaining about the fact that this car is not "in your face" enough and a little too reserved on the looks front but all I can say is that it does work.
For one thing the ride height instantly differentiates this car from a normal mk3 Leon, not so mush wheel gap, and the wheels do look fantastic. I was sceptical about the wheels but after seeing them now I am convinced they work well. Moving along to the the interior I absolutely love the piano black finish on the trimming around the gear lever, centre console and steering wheel along with the black roof interior etc. The leather seats (without the white bits) were surprisingly comfortable and supported the body very well.
Just busy sorting a few pics and a video clip of the cupra doing a launch control and then I will upload them. All in all a fantastic experience and be sure to follow news from your local dealers in a few months and there is a competition coming up that seriously WILL be a once in a lifetime opportunity.
I asked about the cupra r as subtly as I could but as usual I got the standard response that they have no word or idea about if or when one will be launched. We also spoke briefly about the fact that the cupra has not come with any form of body kit ie side skirts as standard and the response was that after all their research was done many people had confirmed that they prefer to have no "leary" kit on the car and if it had come with that they would have been put off potentially purchasing a cupra.
I am in the camp with most who feel such kit should be on the cupra but you can understand the marketing strategy behind not making the car too "in your face" as it just broadens the cars appeal to a much wider audience thus making for better sales for the brand. That is why it leaves it wide open for us to "personalise" our own cars and make them individual to each of us. Kinda makes sense if you think about it logically. I did ask about the horrendous price tag for the body kit and was told that sadly they had no hand in the pricing structure for that, no real answer on that one then sadly.
Any way, that is about all I can say on today and watch this space for pics and video as soon as I have finished uploading it.
