Well, after my car having and Italian tune up yesterday by a well-known BTCC Ex Leon driver, it was still ticking this morning! Although he did say that it’s a really fun car to drive and that it’s definitely a good example and drives exactly how it should.

Anyway, I’d just like to report back that the day was 13 hours long and lots of waiting around.
But they were a great bunch of people who were all very enthusiastic about cars.

I’d just like to mention the location that we used.

It’s a place called www.rampandwrench.co.uk in Coventry.
They hire you the lift and tools if you need them, but do your own work.
I’d really recommend using them if you need to get under your car, but don’t want to do it on your drive or in the cold/wet. Using there lifts is very cheap and the bloke that runs the place is sound.

The episode will be on some time in April on the Discovery channel.

Gutted I didnt see this in time. Would love to see my car going round a track. Might take it to the Nürburgring next year.

Yep sure was :)
I think it'll be repeated at some point this week.
I should also get a DVD of all the footage.

Did you notice that the S3 was stage 2?

(I have now sorted the glove box rattle, but I should really re-do the door grab handles lol)

Just watched it, featuring an 02 reg pre-facelift LC in platinum grey and Jason Plato.

Described as rapid, but make sure the cambelt is changed and the clutch is ok due to the failing clip. Also advised to check interior handles for scuffs (don't they all?) and wobbly glovebox lid.

For £500 quid extra you could get the R apparently. More like a grand in most cases IMO!

Does "as seen on TV" add to the value of my car?

I did tell them that an R was at least a grand more and if they could find me one for an extra £500 I'd take it now.
It was a good day out though, with a bunch of people that are simple mental about cars!

Haha! You need a little sticker on the back.

Interesting that he slated the Escort Cosworth. I suppose when you've driving a reasonably modern VAG car like the Leon and the S3, the pink tinted spectacles of the past tend to wear off.

Here's a snapshot!
