Will this coilover fit with this attached?

Just got my AP coilovers and fitting tomorrow but noticed that they have a lot of metal "bits" attached near the bottom. Will these not prevent the shock seating in the hub part?

That's how they should be, the hub has a slit in them so you can prise open and it makes getting the strut out easier, that just slides into it and a bolt goes through that hole to make sure its in the right location.

Ah right. I did wonder whether that part went down the slit bit of the hub.

Not sure about MOT failure but it would be unsafe.

Yeah as the shock could work free (in theory) but it would take something to come out.

Just asking as my old shocks had these bent to the side
