just swapped my 320bhp impreza for a 2004 bam black cupra r.
This is my cupra before the impreza on stage 2

i spent alot to get it where it was,i should have just bought a cupra r, then i sold that and bought my impreza wrx, after spending £2500 on it,in 6 months,i realised it was a total money pit,and missed my old cupra.

So i advertised it for sale or swap for cupra r, and here she is.

its got a milltek catback, uprated discs and pads, and remapped to 270bhp, but it feels slow compared to the wrx obviously, but also doesnt feel quicker than my old cupra, which was circa 230bhp,it hasnt got a boost gauge at the minute,so i cant tell what boost its running.

had my relentless downpipe and sportscat fitted today at parsons performance in uckfield, begore i put pics,i must say, they know there stuff (ben parsons, formally worked at g -werks), cheapest quote i had by miles, and tidied up things i had bodged free of charge
car on ramps

Ben cut the flange off my old downpipe to weld onto the sportscat section,so it mounted straight onto the cobra catback

Also some of the mounting hangers had to be adjusted, as the relentless is originally designed for the s3

I am very impressed with how it turned out,i thought the cobra non resonated was too quiet for my liking, but now the downpipe is fitted, its got a lovely roar on boost, and a nice burble on tickover. The car currently has a stage 1 map,but the turbo spools instantly and pulls harder through the revs, so i am looking forward to the stage 2 map next week.

Also fitted pics of induction kit and tip

had a few bits done to the car since ive last posted
Raceland coilovers
null-17.png

null-28.jpg

i had problems with the antirollbar every now and again touching the driveshaft, i didnt think this happened on the cupra r, so i went on the venom website, they listed shorter droplinks specifically for the cupra r, i put them on and it actually made the antirollbar touch the driveshaft all the time
null-34.jpg

I sent them an email, stating that shorter droplinks are fine on an lc,but actually worse for the lcr and sent them the pic, but ive since had no reply from them.
I found out my balljoint bolt had snapped, which was making the driveshaft touch, do i changed the balljoint, but it was still rubbing, i put the standard longer droplinks back on,no rubbing issues now, so thats £50 wasted on venommotorsport

I also had my car remapped by amd to stage 2, made 279bhp and 311ft torque
null-6.jpg

null-5.jpg

null-13.jpg

Since the map i changed my forge tip for a badger v3 tip
null-20.jpg

Then bought a tx motorsport front mount intercooler, i thought this would be a straight fit, without chopping the bumper, but i had to lose my fogs, and still cut a fairbit away to get the bumper to fit properly, it took me longer to put the bumper on,than it did for the rest of the job,lol
null-21.jpg

null-23.jpg

null-24.jpg

I then got rid of the crappy digital boost gauge and bought myself a liquid gauge
null-35.jpg

null-36.jpg

null-37.jpg

Then bought myself some 20mm spacers to bring the rear wheels out a bit
null-40.jpg

And here are some pics how the car stands
null-31.jpg

null-26.jpg

null-27.jpg

dont really know what sort of power its pushing out at the moment,i havent had chance to test the liquid gauge, and the weathers been so hot,i didnt want to be disappointed if it made less than 279bhp lol

just thought id do a little update on here,so i got bored of fg04 zsn, had a hankering for an e46 m3,so i bought this

I stuck some csl replicas, a carbonio intake, scorpion exhaust, and had it remapped at amd

so i done basically all i could to the m3, on paper it looked fast, but although it had 349bhp, they have hardly any torque, due to the high revving nature of the engine , i was missing my torque from the turbo, lol
So i put the m3 up for sale and ended up with this

It was a stage 2 mapped by jabbasport, it had 250bhp but 345lb torque!! So i certainly got my turbo torque back, lol, but the car was virtually undriveable as it would spin up all the way to fourth, so i had a more progressive map put on it.
I started getting bored again,so i looked into hybrids and rods for it, but sadly due to me typing the wrong reg number for a vehicle check when i bought it, i found out it was a cat c write off.
So that put me off spending anymore money on it really, and thought it would work out cheaper aswell if i sold up and bought a cupra r with rods and hybrid.

Fast forward 4 weeks and in steps this car

Now ,this car was described as mint in the advert and needed nothing doing, and had all the mods that i was looking for, it certainly did look mint in the pictures, so i made the 4 and a half hour journey to leeds with the cash to buy it from sc45 (sam calcutt).
My advise is never let your heart rule your head when buying a car!, when i got there, the front bumper was in dire need of a respray, a stone chip on the arch was 4 inches long! And the car was advertised with 12 months mot and 6 months tax.
The tax wasn't on the car but sam assured me he just paid for it online and would post it to me.
Me being a nob as i wanted the car so much, brushed these things aside and bought the car.
It wasn't all bad as he had thrown in a polished inlet manifold which i later found out he had stolen from d.k (darren knight).
So i made the long journey home, and near home i could notice an exhaust blow getting louder, so i got home and checked it out, took the charge pipe off and found this

a great big split in the exhaust manifold(034 high flow), i reckon the crack was in there, and after the long journey and the heat cycle,it opened up the split and made it more noticeable.
So i had a good look round the car (should of done it before i bought it), and found the pads with about 1mm thickness

And a bald tyre, which made me think the mot couldn't have been ledgit, so by this time i sort of figured mr sam calcutt sc45 is not the most honest of people, so i checked online about the tax, guess what, it hadn't been paid for, i text sam to confirm, but had no answer, so that was another £154 i had to shell out for on top of the other things.

So on with the car.
I was pretty pissed off with the manifold situation, and couldn't really drive it like that and i didnt want to put a standard one on, so at the time the badger. 5 manifold had been released, heard great things about bill so i paid the £384 and waited 2 weeks, then 4 weeks, then found out they were ****,couldn't wait any longer ,so i cancelled my order and bought a relentless v2

I know these were prone to cracking, but it had been rewelded ,ported and coated, and at the time i didnt know when the v4 was coming out.
I had a hard time finding a garage that would actually fit it , my first port of call was benjamin parsons, but he had a lot on,
So i had someone message me from ed38 forum that lived local and he said he could do it, so left the car with him for 2 days to fit it

I went to pick the car up,and the fella said he couldn't get his jack under my car to do up 2 of the 3 turbo to manifold bolts!!
He said they are very easy once underneath, so i thought they cant be bad ( am i too nice a person with mug on my forehead?), got home, had a look and i didnt realise he had left the near on impossible nut ,and he hadn't screwed a stud into the turbo before fitting the manifold.

The hole reason i got someone to do this job,was because i knew how much of a ******* it is with the head on, so i would have thought he would have fitted the turbo to the manifold and fit them both the same time.
So after 2 nights and a day,i finally did it,i cant believe the audacity of some people, i told the bloke he can have the car as long as he wants as i wanted it done properly

Needless to say he never rang me to come round and finish
By this time id felt pretty let down by a lot of so called professionals, no one seemed to want to have a go at fitting my water meth kit, so if you want it done,do it your self, lol

I bought the devils own,6-30psi kit,it turned out the most time consuming thing was routing the wires and pipes to look pretty neat.
I installed the pressure switch on top of the rocker cover, which was spliced into the vacuum hose which in turn when reached the desired boost, would activate the little micro switch.

I then mounted the tank and pump in the boot

I routed the pipe work to the corner intercooler hose (before the map sensor)

I used this method for sealing to the hose

I hid the relay behind the fuses at the side of the dash,
And i fitted a green led in the boost gauge which lights up when the pump is operating

It was lucky i fitted the led, as when i first went for a drive to test it, it came on at the set boost, but stayed on!!
I pulled over and pulled the fuse, the tank was nearly empty, my biggest fear was it had pumped the entire tankful into the boost pipes, but luckily for me, i hadn't connected the pipe into the nozzle properly, and it had sprayed all over the floor.
On closer inspection i had mounted the switch in a way that the micro switch got stuck on , so thats all sorted now.
The car came with 9.5" rota grid drifts, which were kerbed, and i didnt like the colour anyway

So i sprayed them matt black with plasti dip, really easy to do,and the paint sort of evens itself out

I then added fly eye to the headlights

I then added an omp steering wheel and boss

Although the rota grids did look pretty mean, i kept kerbing them everywhere,so i done a deal for some standard lcr alloys painted in mitsubishi evo grey

Being a bit used to the wide Rotas , the standard lcr wheels sat about an inch inside the arches

So i fitted 20mm spacers all round, and they sat flush with the arches

Now the car sits like this

What are you thinking of getting mate? I see yours on facebook, very nice car,i think you would regret selling, unless your getting something special, i think the cupra r is one of the best all rounders out there at the minute

little update on this, after fitting the w.m.i and getting a map tweak, the car was rapid for about a day, lol, then i had other problems.
After queing for 4 hours to try and get into the bhp show at lydden hill, my car decided to blow a fuse, which decided to take the rad fans out, so i made my way home (took anothe hour and a half just to get out of lydden)
The eml light came on and seemed to run like poo
So i done a scan and all these codes came up

I managed to clear half of them,as found my t.i.p half hanging of the turbo (fella that half fitted the manifold, decided to half fit the t.i.p by not doing up the grub screw)

But i still get 5 codes that say short to ground,so my guess is theres a wire shorting somewhere, ive traced back everything i have been near, and cant find anything, so this is how i feel towards the car now,lol

Ive just dropped the car off with benjamin parsons and said keep it,till it is all fixed lol, I'm off to turkey next week,so hopefully it'll be done around that time
