Leon Cupra R power steering fluid

Just been checking levels under the bonnet everything seems alright but could do with just a dash more power steering fluid, looked in the ever helpful handbook! nothing in there about it?, seen some in asda only £3.50 only 1 type says suitable for most engines is it ok to use?

I did use CHF in mine as that's what I thought it used but that seemed to bugger up the seals in the rack so after replacing the rack i'll only ever use proper VAG fluid which does appear to be very slightly different to CHF. I'd suggest playing it safe.

Im trying to check mine but how do you get the dam Cap open ???

very easy, get a screwdriver and use the metal shaft as a bar, use two hands and unscrew

Tried that my man but the cap is so over tightened the top part of the cap just flexes without movement .... Total suckage !

If its that tight then waterpump pliers or mole grips, however you might want to change the cap afterwards

I was afraid you were going to say that ! I've got it booked in for a full service on Thursday so in sure it can wait till then. I only drive it 12 miles by then. Won't kill it

be brave with it, they do come off but it will be a "pleeeesee don't break moment "
