Looks so much better with the Cupra bumpers and skirts. Definitely makes the wheels suit better too. I'm quite liking the contrast of the non coded door strips too. Which is surprising as I would normally always prefer fully coded.

Coulor code the strips. Doesnt do it right like this.
Dont really like the plastic bits n pieces on top of the windows, keep it OEM man!
Like, 90% of all mk1 tuners have those horrible things.. Quit smoking or get real AC :)

Stunning ride never the less, i also had a mk1 (1.9TDi, same colour) and a garage filled with the exact same bumpers like you. got money saved up to paint it all; then fell asleep while doing 130 km/h on the highway.
hitting a golf mk2 from behind with over 180 km/h quickly ended my Leon M1 overhaul dream...
Ended up selling all the cupra parts wich i precoucly bought in a year time..

Hurts me seeing the exact same project coming to life in your topic. Keep it up man, ill follow this one..

edit: lol my avatar pic shows the mk1 :) suprised to see it, havent been commenting here for a whole, just reading.
finally found one worth commenting on ;)

The door trims will be getting painted,
they'll be off the car on Monday and in high build and painted by the following day hopefully.
As for the wind deflectors, I don't smoke and my AC works just fine!
They were on the car when I bought it and I don't find them that offensive if I'm honest.

Cheers for the feedback though, I'm fairly chuffed with how it's coming together.
Still have a few more jobs I want to do.

yeah. Think of a genuine CUPRA R steering wheel, or a nicely hidding sudwoofer speaker, or luminated heater vents of a Audi A3 8L. Leather seats..... gnagnanga

Finally got around to replacing the door trims with a set of smooth facelift trims instead of the textured black ones it had.
Painted them at work this afternoon and fitted them when I got home...

Decided I'm not going to bother with coilovers either,
I'm happy with how it sits and I can't be bothered with the change in driving style that comes with running silly low.

I am still planning on having it remapped and have spoken to Rob at Auto-Tec about a custom Revo map.
That should hopefully be sometime between now and August. :)

Not updated this for a while, haven't really done much to it until last week when I picked up these mega bargain Audi A3 part leathers...

Vast improvement, way more supportive than the originals and just as comfortable.
I'm missing one of the rear base parts so need to keep an eye out for one.
Also want to swap my door cards and bottom dash parts for the later all black ones so keeping an eye out for them too.

That's exactly what I did.
There's no mounting points for it, just have to position as best you can then self tapper it into place.
You won't see any holes if you decided to remove it again.
I also had to trim the little legs in the middle of the splitter to get it to sit level but it's all easy enough to do.
