Tyre thread - Which do you recommend?

I have pilotsport 3's on mine. On previous cars I've found the wear to be really good and the grip is good on my leon cupra. Would be my recommendation if you can stretch to that budget, as they're not particularly cheap!!

they are really good, but as previously stated they are a very soft tyre so do not last too long.

Slapped a set of Conti sport contact 5's on the front when getting the wheels done last month. Thought I'd give them a 1000 mile before I said anything about them - bloody cracking tyre! has been well tested in this wet and also managed a few dry days inbetween and I'd recommend to anyone!

Going to pitch in with my two pence worth. Only one person mentioned Bridgestone potenza s001. I've been through two setsof these. Awesome wet and dry but beware they don't last long. Fronts have only done about 6-8 K before needing replacing.

I'm not really sure what to get next. Between a few really.

continental sport contact
uniroyal rainsports
goodyear eagle f1
pirelli P zero rosso

I'm not sure yet though probably got a couple of months left to decide.

If you want a hand with your list, I've heard a lot of bad press about the Pirellis, and the Eagle F1s are good, but a touch soft. PS3's are a better option IMO, similar on grip front (and I'd go with a touch better in the wet), with better longevity :)

My mate runs rainsports on his fabia VRS and sings their praises, but I'm not sure what else he's had on there to give him a comparative baseline..

I've got altenzo's on my lcr. They are a new company but they had good reviews and were very cheap they cost under £50 delivered. Driven 8000 miles and they are brilliant no noticeable difference over the good year f1's that they replaced apart from being slightly more noisy. I will definitely get another pair when they ware out.
