Curious as to if anyone has found a way to enable a boost gauge through VCDS?

The first time you put it in reverse with the switch on L, you have to set your mirror in the position you want it to be when in reverse, from then on it will dip in that position when you put it in reverse.

yea i know that but when I start driving it doesn't reset and stays in the dipped position. so I can only guess it's turned off.

It goes back when you drive 10mph or more i think.. If that isn't the problem than I can't help you..

According to the latest seat handbook you turn the knob to position R and dip the passenger mirror!
L is for LHD cars

So try using R instead

Its L on my RHD ST (uk spec)

Goes back up to normal when going forward over 10/15mph.

Took some fiddling when I first got the car, works like a charm now.

Actually there is a Typo in the manual it should read L

Not so much a typo, more the lack of modifying the English manual to allow for the fact that it is not a LHD car.

It says R in the Spanish manual.

Almost everybody in this forum uses this kind of cable. But the cable at your link is very pricey. I advise you to buy this 12.12 VCDS cable from Aliexpress. You can buy it approximately 20-25 dollars including shipping. Be careful when choosing. It is better to buy the cable which can be used with original VCDS software. For example:

Turns out I was wrong on this one when I tried again it worked. Seems you have to give it a few seconds to load first. Alternatively my cable is dropping the connection

Latest original software version is 12.12.2. But you have to use the version 12.12.0 with these cables. There is no cheap cable like this that can be used with version 12.12.2 for the time being. Here is the link for original version of this software:

Yes this is correct. Also use a laptop without an active connection to the internet otherwise the software will auto update and disable your cable.

I'm looking to get a cable to check if the control unit in my 2007 Ibiza (6L) is a 6Q0 or 6Q2, and then hopefully install and enable cruise control.

I've found one on Amazon (Google for "B001C1MNTM" and you'll see) which is well reviewed and has Prime delivery! Would this serve my purpose or should I order from China and wait?
