20VT no boost, open wastegate?

Hello! Leon TT4 with ARY engine. Lost boost, no engine light and the engine bay is really loud, as if the exhaust is bypassed. Seems like the wastegate may be open all the time?

The wastegate actuator feels fine and I think it is closed when the car is off. What more could cause this?

sounds like suggests turbo to mani is leaking

EGT probe spat out of the turbo housing

not sure an ARY engine will have egt probe (k03 engine)
5mm hole for egt probe vs leak for no boost


Presumes no boost is 0(zero) psi and not less boost (some) psi

I had been too hasty while trying to jiggle the downpipe. The flex joint was completely off!
