Hi guys, just thought id post here for some information.

I know we dont buy LCR's for fuel economy but in this day and age every penny counts!

Ive had an ibiza cupra r before, and a Audi TT Quattro 225 (BAM) in the past which have been pretty good on fuel.

My commute to work is 10 miles of motorway really (takes me 3 mins to get to motorway) then i sit at 60 for 10 minutes.

Now my TT use to average 40mpg on the display - but around 60miles to £10 as all i really did was sit on the motorway for 10 miles at 60.

Now the LCR does not have Quattro so in theory will slightly be better with the fuel?

At the moment i have a Bora tdi130 with a map and upgrades - so ill easily get 65mpg to work (granted 100bhp or so less)!

I do like the TDI but its not as nice to drive as the ole TT was. Too much torque that it doesnt really do much with (310ftlb)

Cheers guys!

haha, I dont think id be able to justify 23mpg! Although saying that if my TDI is cold and stuck in traffic - ill only get 25 to 30mpg.

Just brought an LCR, not mapped with a panel air filter and recirc valve, lucky to get 32mpg even cruising round taking it easy!

Town is around 22mpg - 27mpg depends on traffic, motorway is 35+. Standard lcr 225.

Just drive it differently for different occasions. I use mine for work and get 32mpg. On an evening it goes down a fair bit.

I only bought my lcr on Saturday but I managed 37mpg I the journey back and I'm getting between 32 and 36 on my journey to and from work depending how fast I drive!! In very impressed with the mpg you can get for a car with 225 bhp.

60/70 on motorway gets around 40mpg on the trip (realistically about 35mpg)
Combination of town/A road driving to work (10 miles) I get around 35mpg on trip(realistically around 30/31mpg)

Inner city/town generally low 20's and hooning can be less than 20mpg

I use to do 40 miles a day. 20 to work 20 back. 10 miles motorway and 10 miles A road one way. I could get 40mpg but driving at 60 and very economically. If i drove normally that would drop to 36-37 and if I gunned it 33-34.

Moved house live 6 miles away from work and barely get 25mpg but I am sitting in traffic more and is town driving.

Best I have ever had is a 360 mile round trip to wales and used the car with work so tried to get as much profit out of the ppm and got 42mpg.

tbh I think the mpg is very good for having 225 bhp dont drive on the turbo and your driving a 1.8 around as im finding with my new 325 your always driving a 2.5 around and mpg is poor! my mate has a 3.2 audi 250bhp and stuggles to get 25mpg on a run!

I had an audi tt mk2 3.2L 250bhp til last year and mpg around town and home to work through town was horrendous! and i mean 14-18 mpg. ~24mpg on dual carrigeway mixed driving. That's one of the reasons why I changed car.. great noise and instant power but very thirsty. £460 (now 475) tax was also another reason for changing. All in all, happy with the LCR!

If the R is cold and stuck in traffic you're looking at 15mpg.

As for average, where do you live? I used to average mid 20's round town but my brother in law averaged high 20s. I'm in hilly Yorkshire, he's in flat Cheshire.

I live in Yorkshire too mate and yeah my commute to work is around 5/10 mins give or take a bit of traffic so never has chance to warm up in a morning and when she is warm I like to have a bit of a play so you reckon 50/60 miles off £20 of shell v power is about right then?
