Hey everyone new cupra r owner here. I bought my LCR on Sunday and absolutely love it! I think I may have a problem though, when the car is completely cold like in the morning there is a knocking sound.

Now there is no knock when its in neutral or with the clutch down and you rev it, but when you pull away there's this sound. Its like a rattly knocking sound that sounds like its coming from the gear knob area and I think it does it in more in the lower gears.
But once its warmed up just slightly the noise disappears and all is normal? The has only done 35k miles so I hope its nothing major. :-(

Hope this is the right section

Cheers Sam.

Cat heat shield ? As it warms up the metal expands and limits the movement. Mine had this, pulled the shield off and hey prestow !

Hi sam, alex here. It did this ages ago but I fixed it by bending the heat shield up a bit. I didn't notice the noise last week though.

Are you giving it lots of beans from cold? I know the engine doesn't like being driven over 3k from cold because of the extra turbo pressure... dont know if this might be related?

How's she treating you apart from this though?

Okay Alex cheers that puts my mind at rest haha.
Na Ive been driving it really carefully until its warmed up properly so its defiantly not that :)

Only one other problem apart from that which is I can hear a whining wheel bearing. It started on my drive home lol. That might have something to do with my dad hitting that pot hole on the test drive though ;-)
Apart from that mate she's golden! Love driving it, its a beast!
