Been a while since I have updated my thread but not a lot has been happening over the past couple of months. I'm after a second car for commuting to work and back as I want to tinker with the Leon and being the daily driver as it is, it's such hard to work and actually take my time on it and concentrate on making it show worthy.
But when I eventually do get the second car then I'll work on the engine bay once again, removing the inlet manifold and actually machine polish the whole thing instead of what it is now. Also removing the rocker cover and polishing that up or giving it a spray of crackle black. Possibly get the cambelt cover a lick of gloss black paint?! All minor things which I have wanted to do but couldn't. I am also in the process of building up my spraying equipment up so I can tackle bodywork which I have always wanted to do since I was little. If I get the knack of doing this then my front wings will be resprayed along with the rear bumper with the diffuser mod added (from Triple R composites). But again these are all future plans and not in any rush to do them as perfection shouldn't be rushed!
Anyway back to what I have been up to these past couple of months, which again isn't a lot but still shows I have the love for the car.
First up was replacing the plastic dip stick. It's always been a mod I should have done a year ago but never really bothered to do but until my mate made me aware there was one for sale locally that I couldn't turn down, especially at £20! I also gave it a machine polish up to go with the charge pipe and inlet manifold, even though you can't really see it.

After the 3 stage polish, which took very little effort:

Next up was a custom cut down plate as I fancied a change from the pressed plate. I made the plate myself and with the
help of Stanley was able to cut it down to a perfect size.
At the beginning of September I decided to give the car it's usual pre winter cleaning treatment, which resulted in a Meguires Golden shampoo wash, clay bar, 3M extra fine plus cut with the DA and coating of Meguires gold wax. Meguires alloy cleaner and Autoglym glass cleaner were put into the equation as well. The results always make me smile lol.

That's it for now. As soon as I get my run about then this thread will get updated more frequently.
