ok guys, im looking at buying the kn induction which comes with the cold air intake pipe for my ibiza mk4 6l fr 1.8 2005.....will it be ok? it wont mess up the air sensor thingy? on kns site they say it will not do anything to do it.

if the kn isnt any good then what else can i do? pipercross and powertec dont come with the cold air intake, yes i could buy say a green universal cone filter but what neck diameter and also what cold intake pipe???

ok, ive read too much about the oil on the kn getting on the maf sensor now! ive seen most of you on here with cone filters are using the jetex, ive asked badger 5 for a price on the jetex and which neck diameter, also what/how are you guys using cold air intakes, or would the heatshield that badger sells be sufficient? or would be fine without anything?
and can i just remove the top of the airbox or do i need to remove the whole thing?

K&N is an oiled filter.. The 1.8t's are known for faulty MAF-sensors because of the oil is cooking on the MAF. Go for a Apexi powerfilter or a BMC CDA filter. BMC has a excellent sound but the Apexi is known for a very little power ingrease.. (3hp when chipped)

edit. i have been told i am geting a green filter for my bday :) which will be fine. also i have read that the sai pipe is 28mm so il be looking for a filter for that too, or as said on here loads of times, zip tie an old sock on the end :p for now.
will also be ordering the heatshield from badger5 in a few weeks, il let you know how i get on.

Looks good.

I know it's been mentioned already, but the S2000 would of done the job just fine. Flows more than enough air and costs less than £20. I used to think that K&N filters etc... were a good thing for the engine, but as you know, oil is what kills the MAF and they are just too expensive for my liking (but then again, I'm cheap)

thanx man :D will it be getting any cold air from the hole at the bottom side of the airbox where the intake goes from the oval thing on the front?

It will get the same amount of air as the original airbox through the pipe, however, it will also get extra air flowing through the engine bay over the top if the filter.

The filter should be able to filtrate and allow more air through than the OEM setup.
