My 61 plate mk2's wipers are quite noisy ESP at the top and bottom of the range when they change direction

Bought some Bosch to replace the original- only marginally better.

Is this a common feature of the mk2?

Any recommendations?

Thanks

I would like to know this too, had bosch on my last Leon and they were squeaky too. Looking to replace the genuine SEAT ones that came with this Leon as they are squeaking now around half way on the down stroke.

It's not always the wipers that are at fault, especially if they are only 2 or 3 years old. It's often a build up of road grime on the windscreen that needs a specialist glass cleaner or polish to clean it off, soap and water is not sufficient.

I was just about to change my OEM wipers to the Valeo's because of this exact same reason, but then I got hold of some RainX in Asda for 4 quid.. sprayed it on my windscreen and voila..no squeaking or silly noises and the wipers work as if they're brand new. Would deffo give it a go, cheaper alternative.

My wipers have been a problem since I bought the car 18 months ago. I have had about 5 sets on and I think the problem was actually caused by rain x as it made my wipers bounce across the screen. After a while the blades got so contaminated I had to replace them. I've tried everything, adjusted springs, twisted arms, scraped screen with razor blades, polished screen, used rubbing compound, t - cut, wire wool and bar keepers friend. Never really solved it. Im going to try go back to bosch. If that doesnt work only things left to try which would be extreme is new wiper arms or screen.
