Just about to change my oil in 1.8t running revo stage 2.
Manual says use either 10w 40 (what Seat use at service) but also says
5w 30 / 5w 40 or 10w 30 are ok which should I use?

Does anyone know? I have done a search but this seemed to be the only petrol realated mk4 thread about replacing the oil, and I could do with getting some on my way home.

GSF do either 10w 40 or a 5w 40 or 5w 30 which all VW rated and fine for the car apparently. I opted for fully syn though.

On the sump, there is a 17mm stop. Take it out and drain it into a bucket or something like a bottle. (not in the suwer please). Bring it to a place where they take it in.
Than take of the oilfilter which is located behind the radiator.
Put on a new oilfilter(7 quid at the dealer) but the bolt back into the sump and fill the oil on the top of the engine with 4.5 L of 5w40 Castrol Edge TD.
