Forge front mounted intercooler

Hi all,

So my performance guy who has the same car as me, Ibiza Mk4 1.8T FR has recommended I get an intercooler for my stage 2 remap.

Suggested part is forge FMINTSSIBP. However he says that he had to upgrade to cupra bumpers in order for the intercooler to fit!? And he had to cut his standard bumpers first to tey fit it and it didn't work well. Is this a problem anyone else has had?

The fmic will fit with a facelift bumper after a little cutting..
Why dont you go for a darkside fmic?
Just need the piping (dont be amazed about the ridiculous pricing).
Forge is really good but the price of the FMIC is way to much..
For around the 450/500 quid you'll have it complete.

Hi Roffel, thanks for your feedback.

Does it look good after a little cutting? Not something the garage could easily eff up is it?
Never heard of darkside if I'm honest, but I've heard from a few places/people that Forge is the best. Plus the garage is a Forge retailer and will fiddle the remap (for free) to include the FMIC if they install it after the stage 2 is initially mapped before the FMIC.

The cutting is on the inside of the bumper, should look the same from the outside.

Yea only saves like 120 on the forge though so might as well just go with the forge.

Yes as they are welded end tanks as opposed to SeatSports crimped version.

Look at Airtec also as it's slightly bigger core than the forge.

2) Darkside

My Forge kit on my GTB1756VK setup barely goes over 29'c most of the time at full throttle.

Highest I've seen is 36'c
