for road use if you are keeping the 288 set up
ds2500 pads
ate superblue fluid
and any discs as they not so important
that will be a decent upgrade compared to oem but dont expect too much lol

After the Brembos would be the Golf R32 callipers then the 312mm which come on all the petrol versions, I have the R32 setup with HPS pads which are awesome.

I would have blamed the lack of "bite" on the pads not the setup, I had HPS pads in mine and they were mental, all you had to do was to touch the pedal and you were nearly through the window, I've just fitted some pagid pads and they are ****!!! No confidence in them at all.

I will be buying some more HPS.

yeh i do agree that mine could be due to pads
my new set up is brembos and ds3000 pads
no comparison the bite is immense!!
i think the r32 with good pads will be more road friendly.
my car is a track car so different needs for me

I've got the following set-up:
FRONT - of Porsche Boxster rear calipers/312 EBC ultamax discs/DS2500 pads
REAR (at present) - Brembo plain discs and pads
REAR (soon to be) - refurbed LCR rear calipers/256 vented EBC ultamax discs

What I would say is that if you are not doing track days then the DS3000 would be a bit overkill for normal road use. Generally a decent set of discs & pads with a fluid change would be more that adequate.
