Tyres for OEM 17" Cupra wheels

I am fitting a set of OEM Mk5 Cupra wheels on to my Mk5 TOCA and just want to confirm the standard tyre size

I think its 215/40/RCan people please confirm?

That's right, 215/40/17.

Is there any reason why not to use 205/40/R17 instead?

When you work out the rolling radius it is closer to my 16" tyres than the 215/40/R17

You can fit 205s perfectly happily, however, a word of warning, they don't protect the alloys from kerbing damage like 215s do
