That's how this started, VW Parts Specialists, VW Dealers could not tell me so eventually I contacted VW Technical Team..............who as above gave me a completely wrong spec...not related to Gearbox Oil. Anyway as well as contacting Fuchs I've recontacted VW.

Fuch's don't do a 70W-75 Titan it seems

Well VW have finally come back with correct Spec G052 171 A2 but still can not tell me what Viscosity that relates to ....which surprises me and also therefore the Viscosity of the oil that is stock in my gearbox (to enable me to pick a lower viscosity)................the Spec does say this is for Transverse Engine & LOWER viscosity but not what that Lower viscosity is !
This Thread is interesting reading : http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/thread...gear-changes-when-cold-2-0-tdi-s-line.201592/

Does mention "Oilman" (who is on this site) and Fusch may make the OEM stuff.

Paul from memory only it's approx. 70-75 I really would not go thinner it's like water already and god knows what it's like in summer after a motorway gallop the important thing is to get something in there and know what it is cheers Nic

Vag manual gearbox oil is special lifetime oil.

Can you say that any other brand will last and perform as well?

Lots of 6 speeds out there at high milages without problems.

Stick with the vag gear oil as its tried and tested, and not just some internet forum scene/hype oil.
