Hi guys,

Basically getting this fault..

17748 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40) / Engine Speed Sensor (G28)
P1340 35-00 Incor Correlation

Ive reset it with VCDS, and stays off and then randomly will come up, car will be standstill or moving, doesn't make any difference.

Theres no cold start or hot start issues i think, might take half a second longer on a warm start if i be anal.

MPG seems about right, pulls right, does everything its meant to, and it does it well..

Timing belt was done some time ago, not recently.

What would my best point of action be?

Many thanks

Id bet its just the engine speed sensor (g28) causing the other 2 faults, ive come across at least 3 that were failing when hot, fyi G28 engine speed sensor is otherwise known as crank sensor, its located behind the oil filter housing, iirc its a single 5mm allen screw to remove it.

I'd be checking your engine timing and also that the belt is correctly tensioned and not either worn or a dodgy tensioner.
Incorrect correlation faults normal mean your timing is off.
Have you had a cam belt change recently?

Changed the crank sensor, had a good drive no issue,

Had it running since on stand still for half hour and again no lights seems to be all sorted touch wood

Cool, nice to hear. Slugmaster your right about incorrelation faults being down to timing issues but as the crank sensor supplys tdc and crank position info to the ecu, a fault with this sensor can trigger countless other faults along the way.
