My (as yet to be confirmed) build week has been brought forward from Week 02 (w/c 5 Jan 15) to Week 47 (w/c 17 Nov 14). So hopefully just in time for Xmas. Still around 4.5 months in total but MUCH better than the six months I was looking at.

Oh that's interesting, reckon mark and I are due some good news, here's hoping!! ;)

When did they tell you and was there any reason? Hopefully they've sorted the wheel shortage issue!!

Pretty recently. Phoned SEAT Customer Services late Friday to enquire about the reasons for the delay. They phoned back yesterday (Monday) with the updated build week. They advised that I phone back in around 3 weeks, by which time (fingers crossed) the build week should then be confirmed. They claimed not to be aware of any specific delays.
Contacted my dealer today who confirmed this information; including a screen shot from the (rather antiquated looking) SEAT computer system, showing the change from week 02 to week 47.

Lets hope that this is a general improvement in some of the larger reported delivery times, rather than simply a one-off.

That's great news for you, hopefully you could be right and it's not a one off!

Anyone know if there is any aftermarket interior upgrade? I mean the black plastic dash for example around the heating system looks very bad. It looks cheap compare to Golf GTI/R for example.

I haven't seen one - maybe they do exist but personally I wouldn't see the point as I don't feel there is anything lacking about the Cupra 280 interior. Agree the Golf interior is a nice place to be but there are plenty of compelling reasons why I'd chose the Seat over the GTI or R. The comparisons have been done to death many times, ultimately it comes down to personal choice.

Drove a Cupra 280 today, DSG box. Excellent, really impressed. More important, GF was too!
Appeared so much smoother than current R , time to have a good think........ :)

Going from a MK2 LCR (MK2 FR before that) to a MK3 .. you won't regret it
Had looked at one before, and was a bit underwhelmed by the look etc. However this changed when I had chance to drive it. As you say, a real step up.
What seats have you got in yours Andrew? The one we drove had the buckets in black and white, thinking of just the leather pack as think the white would get dirty too easy.
