Sorry guys. But this.

More than happy to get good economy one day and **** all the next. Glad I bought a car that can do it.

350 miles on the clock - and boom - 40.2mpgs. The toy below sorts out my speed kicks. The Cupra is slow compared.

The 280 is a fantastic car. Does everything I want whether it's driven by a ***** or driven by a mad Cnut!!!!!

I'm still puzzled why you bought a Cupra to drive it at 40 mpg . You have a bike for your fun and yet you try to get 40 mpg in a 280 bhp hot hatch. Bizarre !

Not really! Most Range Rovers never leave the tarmac yet they are a very capable off road vehicle, same argument I would say.

If someone wants to buy a Cupra and drive it for economy,so what that is their choice. The Cupra is still a fun drive even when driven economically............;)

Just done 2 hours on motorway .. In sport mode and got 38.9 on the display averaging 75-80.

Looks like a good answer to my original remap question.

Have you noticed an improvement in economy since getting the Revo done?

System and brake uppgrade. Had some real fun with it on trackdays. But that was 12 years ago, kind of miss fast bikes:)

Just to alleviate anyone's concerns, 20 miles done this morning around my favourite roads and 21.3mpgs (still restricting revs for running in).

Is this better?

Final one from me here (I promise) but it is fun to prove Simonali wrong and it provides the OP with a decent spread of info but this morning's commute (very chilled out, SEAT sounds system providing the tunes) returned 40.2mpgs. Car has 589 miles on it so it will get better with age.

Looking forward to seeing how low I can get it on the way home. Might just take the mountain roads!!

Agree with the view that you wouldn't buy one of these if economy was your #3 let alone #1 priority, but it's a real bonus for those days when you just want to cruise etc. I commute regularly between my home in Cardiff, soon to be Pembs to North Yorks where the company is based. The M4/5/42/1 A1 is not a place to bouncing off the limiter constantly, and given it's business mileage I don't want to out of pocket, so I'm probably going to set up the individual profile for super eco!
I've just had 18 months or so in a FL Octy II vRS 2.0 TSI, with a stage 1 Shark map. I never managed less than 28mpg in it, and that was cross country in attack mode; on a otorway cruise 70 - 80 ish I'd get 35-37 without trying. I've just picked up my 280 yesterday, drove it carefully from Cardiff to Pembs, got about 34, drove back at around 9pm and managed 29. Not brilliant, but acceptable, given I was driving it harder / faster than I realised.
One question, though and the obvious one - everyone using 99 (Tesco, V-Max etc etc) or are some of these in regular 95? I always used 99 wherever possible, occasionally 97 if that's all there was with the Octy, but then the remap was sensitive to such things, whereas the engine in factory tune wasn't significantly so.

I used to see slightly better mpg from higher Ron fuels with my 05 accord 2.4, even if not quicker. I seem to recall that an extra 1-2mpg is worth around a fiver a tank, versus a couple of quid between 95 and 99 at the pumps.

Been using V-Power since picking it up but was going to ask the question about fuel grades and it seems the place here. I presume it doesn't matter if you only put 95RON in a Cupra even though they stipulate 98RON? Or, am I best stick with the higher octane stuff? I don't want to damage the engine!

Managed 41.2mpgs this morning for my commute in, looking forward to halving it on the way home!

So does mine, manual states 95 is fine with slight loss of performance, never noticed any diff in any of my Cupra's mpg using the 98 fuel of any make, that's why I just use Asda 95.

Asda 95 in mine also for the last couple of months as it's mega cheap and I live next to the worlds biggest Asda. No complaints from me . Will give it a few tanks of V-Power when I can get to a Shell over Chrimbo.
