Should sit about 90-100 degrees but I have over 130 when pushing it on track
Hi Ronin, searching the forum posts and saw you mentioned checking or cleaning the exchanger ? If I drive around slowly it gets to 95/100 and no higher, if I drive anywhere above 50 the oil temp goes up and doesn't come back down, coolant is consistent though looking at vagcom any ideas ?

The oil is heated/cooled by an exchange unit on the filter housing so unless under load the oil shouldn't really be able to heat it up very quickly
How good a guage have you got as it maybe inaccurate, also think about how the sender works, internally it will be filled with some resistive material which changes its resistivity with temperature. The higher/lower resistance with raise or lower the gauge
Where abouts did you run the cable, is this getting very hot if ran by downpipe etc

Uhm gauge and sender was around £40 discontinued from demon tweaks, cable has been run from the sender and mimicked the vac line for my boost gauge so In via the pollen filter. Maybe I'll buy another sender and swap them over see if any difference?

Same temps for my stage 2 LC180, 95-100 when driving with low boost (0-0.5 BAR). When booting it, it goes up to 115 degrees. I have a RAID HP Nightflight meter and RaidHP sandwich plate.

Thanks ND I think I'll just keep an eye on it, sadly I dont have anything to compare it too, just thought it would hold 95-100 a little better opposed to what I think is around 110/115

I hope you have proper oil. Grade A oil should withstand those temps without much hassle. If you drive with +125 degree temps "constantly", you should consider an extra oil cooler.
I have shell helix 5w 40 and change every 5k. I'm just curious to why mine would run hot as standard, I've only got plug and play mods and they've not been mapped in yet. So wouldn't expect that much variance? Thankfully the gauge doesn't get that high but definitely past the 95 and somewhere between that and 120

Dan you on a Facebook group ? I posted on yesterday, I checked and my ecu doesn't have any data on 134 ? Ill check again tonight. However when I went to check and sat at idle after driving across town, low speeds no boost it sat at 95/100 and wouldn't go up till I went home down the bypass..... Weird
