MK3 Cupra Track/Race car - New Build

Just rods will be fine. Mine was mapped down to 290bhp as it was a fresh engine bed in on the rollers and went to the ring 2weeks after. Pulled over 300bhp before being pulled back.

If you flick through my thread I went from K03 to K03s to K04 and Id Defo do the k04 again rather than the K03S

Oh you don't need new inlet manifold as they're the same you just need 225 injector seals fitting in your inlet.

Hmmm... You guys make a compelling case! Will certainly consider it!

Had a couple hours free tonight..

First thing, painted the inlet in VHT metallic black which has a little sparkle to it!

Paint was dry inside the car

Had my VT rear engine mount delivered. I've got a solid front one, just gearbox need now if anyone has one for sale?

Layed the K04 bits and stared at them trying to make a decision..

Then cracked on with the car. Firstly tidied the wiring a little.. Still loads to do. Relocated my alarm ecu

Got excited and fitted my new dash..

Then the OMP seat subframes and side mounts

Then went in my seat and steering wheel

Messed around with the seat height for a bit till I was happy. Ended up with this

Back when I used to prep race cars for a living almost every car was white inside and I thought it just looks right! A pain to keep clean tho haha..

Steering wheel looks close from that angle but it isn't too bad.. It's my preferred position for racing/track driving as the seat sits nice and low.. Touring car style! haha

Ahh I see. I thought would all be black for less glare and that. Think I'm gonna do inside of mine black, as you say easier to keep clean haha.

Alright cool, yeah everyone has different preferences. I need to get deep dish wheel as mines too far away.

How you find the omp subframes? They sit abit to far back for my liking (short legs lol) so gonna need modified soon so I can drive bit more comfortably.

White just looks cleaner, don't get glare off it and also helps to see inside the car when working on it..

My last race car was black inside, I couldn't stand it! Especially as it was road legal at night it was really dark inside as no interior lights etc..

OMP Frames are OK.. I can just about get my seat low enough for my preference although I could easily modify the frames to get lower. I had a thought about moving mine a little closer but as it is, it's OK.. I'm only 5'10" and feels OK. Could maybe do with being an inch or so closer. They're simple enough to modify to get a little closer.. An angle grinder and drill should do the trick

Hmm decisions haha. What paint did you use to paint inside?

Yeah will be easily modified. Yeah I'm not tall either. Was think to weld another bar with holes behind front flat plate so can be slid further forward. I'm the same an extra inch forward would probably be perfect. It's okay for daily driving but I think once on track may not be pushing clutch right in properly.

I just Hammerite smooth paint in a tin for a base then the same in an aerosol to give a even finish.

It's another turbo! Now I have the choice two different K03 a K03s and a K04 in my garage now.... Maybe I should build the first quad turbo Ibiza!

Anyway.. Found some free time again last night which is unusual for me..

Prepped the car for welding the cage feet in

Fitted my Forge SAI blank

Wrestled the cage in the car alone and mocked it all up as best as I could

Built up the engine bay - manifold, injectors, coolant hoses etc to get the car running.. Didn't take any pictures as the car has developed a huge misfire so spent some time looking at that. No obvious cause as yet....

Weekends plans are to investigate the misfire and fix, top mount the shifter, remove AC compressor and pipes, remove SAI pump, weld the cage feet in and remove the cage for painting!

My name is Aaron... And I'm addicted to turbos! Haha

Got loads done over the weekend. Cage feet all made, welded in, holes in floor welded up, seat fitted and a quick test drive!

Got no pictures as it was dark. Away with work all week so will update properly at the weekend when I'm home. Will do a little GoPro video of it on road too!
