Just to clear a few things up, I'm looking at ditching the PCV if I get the car back on the road, am I right in thinking I can ditch all the gubbins under the manifold, block off the 3 barbs on the inlet manifold, then just come from the crankcase breather , tee into the cam case breather, straight into a catch can, then out of the catch can into the TIP?

As in, exclude the catch can ? Not the best idea really, what's the point in doing it just to essentially replicate the existing oem system, catch can is to condense the oil vapour and save putting it back into your engine. The oil will slightly lower your octane rating too..

No worries Gaz

Rob, best way to run without a can is to block off the tip and run the pipe straight down to the undertray and let the oil vapour vent, it'll smell of oil if it's sitting too long but its better than running it straight back into the TIP

Quick question guys . Mine fills up with water ( a tiny bit gunky but more water ) very quickly. Have to empty it every week . I also have one of the hoses as a drain pipe towards the bottom of the engine . The smell can be really strong sometimes . Is this normal ?

mine filled with watery gunk quite regularly to begin with but after a while it took longer to fill up, that is the reason for the catch can if the catch can wasnt there that would be going back through the engine
