Been a while again since I last updated, not too much to update but not long after I changed the oil filter, I changed the fuel filter which hasn't been replaced in my ownership. 15 minute job and V Power flowing through it once again!
After nearly owning the car for 3 years now I have been after a pair of headlight protectors for a long time and finally got offered some from a fellow SCN member.
And how the car sits now.
Been thinking about this for a while but come next spring I will make the painful decision to sell up and move on. Want to move to something completely different and yes it's going to be jap and unreliable!

Those headlight protectors are very hard to come by,i haven't seen many sets come up for sale you did well to get your hands on them.
Sad news to hear your gonna be selling up mate it's a hard decision to make,I keep thinking about doing the same but then talk myself out of it lol !
Whoever ends up with yours will be getting a very well looked after car but we all have to move on at some point.

I'm the same as you, when I drive it I just don't want to get rid and I love it too much to depart. Was thinking bigger turbo but it's just so much work and pennies. Always wanted something jap so sod it! lol
Suck a nice example mate. Apart from going big turbo it's pretty much there isn't it? Can't be much more you can or need to do? Whoever takes it off your hands will need to do nothing for it! Be sad to see her go when you do.

Thanks dude, I'm going to change the clutch and TIP and then go stage 2 soon otherwise I'll regret not doing it before I sell up.
It will be very sad to let her go after all my time and effort I've put in so ideally would like to sell to someone I know will definitely look after her. Way to good to break as well.

Cheers mate, I've done my best over the years to show how much work I've put into her.
Take your time when doing the catch can, as it'll be worth it in the end.
It's been a fun few years modding this car from standard mate, enjoyed putting my stamp on it. I'll see how stage 2 is but I think the time is right to let go for something else. "You can't take money with you".
Stage 2 will be some point next month when the clutch gets changed as well. Thanks though mate I'm glad I have inspired you with yours, it's looking better than mine by the day!
A move to the jap side is most likely going to happen, I would love to forge this and go BT but need to put my money in something that will hold it's value more. I may go back to an LCR one day!
Another mini update as usual. Only minor things have been done to the car such as the carbon canister delete which was easy enough...
Also painted the rear discs as I was sick to death of the rusty look. Oh and went over the guards as well as they were looking tired. Plus the calipers have gone back to red.

At the weekend I spent most of my time cleaning and treating her to some polish. Took a few shots outside a church "as you do"! Still doesn't look too bad for an 11 year old motor.
Ordered some red logo centre caps as one has disappeared again!
Also painted the rear discs as I was sick to death of the rusty look. Oh and went over the guards as well as they were looking tired. Plus the calipers have gone back to red.

Not much to update again but got myself a new winter daily driver with a B6 Passat TDI. First diesel I've owned and well impressed with the mpg on her, well compared to the lcr that is.

Also managed to pop to Players 9.0 with fellow member Dan on here, very good turnout and a few nice Seats there.
