Seals - is it a dealer fix?

My two front doors 'creak' a little when going round corners. It sounds like the door has a bit of play in it but its shut solid. When you press on the window on the outside you can replicate the movement and creak.

I've read that it could be the door seals that need lubricant but wondered if it was a home fix or a dealer one??

Put some spray silicone on the seals. Or use special car door seal silicone. Should fix the problem. If this wont help then try luck at the dealers.

I used a product called believe it or not Gummi Pfledge, get it from micksgarage.com or just google it for other suppliers.
It is a rubber protector in an easy to use applicator and makes doors squeek free.

For info if googling Gummi Pfledge is made by Sonax (German).

Same issue here, I think it is the window seals.. but not 100% sure
Used the silicone but it dries out very quickly and does not eliminate the squeak

Are you using a silicone spray ? That does dry out quite quickly
I use the silicon paste, easily last a couple of years before you need to re apply it

Mines in the dealers next week so going to ask them to have a look. If you press on the outside of the door you can replicate the movement and creak so there's def a problem that needs addressing.

I suffered from this and found the fix from another forum for a different make of car. I cleaned the door seals (particularly the bit that is a flock material) by scrubbing them with toothbrush using hot water with some washing up liquid. Then pat dry the seals dry. Apply Einszett Gummi Pflege to the seals. It goes on kind of foamy but once you leave it and let it dry a bit you don't know it is there. This completely cured it and lasted for 9 months before I had to re-apply. The only difficult bit is getting hold of the stuff. It doesn't seem easy to get hold now, I had to buy it on eBay.

BMW dealers sell Gummi Pflege as part their car care range. Off The shelf usually. I have a can in the garage. Used it for years

It's in the dealers for a rattling door card to be fixed so I'm going to ask them to look at it. If not I'll order some gummi pfledge.

Had the exact same issue on a Mk 2 Astra many years ago. Very irritating but easily fixed by lubricating the rubbers

FGS before going the silicone route, try the clean the door seals route.

I had the exact same problem, and it was me that caused it when detailing the car. So now after a wash and wax I have a towel cloth and I wipe the window rubber seal fuzzy part and the corresponding door shuts with my window cleaner. I am using Nilco Nilglass at 5 quid for 1 litre from branches of Boyes.

I have now not heard a creek in 15,000 miles.
