I'm(we) are pushing 58, but I will go test the civic when it's launched although the fact it's two door rather than 4-we need back doors for the real oldies in the family- puts me off a bit, as for the looks, well, if you gonna own a hot hatch it may as well stand out from the crowd, wonder what Mugen has in store for it?
No real plans to spend a shed load of cash but if a deal pops up you never know, I can say it wouldn't be the Renault.

I think its a four door......;)

I usually have a soft spot for Hondas but I can't say I like that one, so many recycled parts in that cabin (that speedo is about 10 years old now), looks like it has been coated in glue and rammed through Halfords and I nearly vomited my chinese takeaway all over my laptop due to the fact the AE reviewer looked like he was sat on a space hopper.

Seats in the Civic-R look nice though

Really am a fan of stripped out bucket seats but hate the red on the Honda ones... All black would look so much better.

The Civic Type R’s blistering performance is unmatched in the front-wheel drive hot hatch segment: the 0-to-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint is covered in just 5.7 seconds* – making it the fastest accelerating performance front-wheel drive hatchback – and top speed, where permitted, is a class-leading 270 km/h (167 mph)*.

Is the dsg Cupra not 5.7 as well.

Yeh, and AE got 5.5 using LC in it's first test.

I think the Civic is 4 door, I am sure I can see the rear door handles blended in the at rear of the windows. Similar to the the Mk2 Cupra.

The bit I find really bizarre is that the rear seats ARE all black with not even the smallest flash of red detailing on them. Really jars that the front and rear seats don't match.

Volkswagen SCIROCCO COUPE 3-DR 2.0 TSI R BMT (280 PS) DSG FWD 0 TO 62 5.5 Honda should do reserch before making this claim.

I liked the look of the Honda when I saw it in EVO, not so sure now. Would soon be crippled after driving it for any time on these roads though:p

Cupra best all rounder for my money.

Seats on the ep3 versions often didn't match, saying that I don't have eyes in me arse to see the colours, 4 door might encourage me to consider the civic to partner my other Honda.

Yeah but the fully blown Megane is in a whole different price bracket and doesn't have rear seats.......... in fact it doesn't have hardly anything in it!!!!

The other two are extreme as they are, so it would have been a lot fairer to put the sub8 pack on the Cupra.

Continental have made an entirely new compound tyre for the Type R too. Poor test if the meganes brakes where shot it probably wasn't in the best condition overall being a 3/4yr old press car .
They've geared it to be fast around the ring too,167mph

I look forward to renaults response, asking as it's not another rehashed special
