I wonder if anyone can enlighten me as to why my tickover blips by 100rpm or so when warm, about every 10 seconds ? The car runs fine but i do like to keep it in tip-top condition, and obviously something is amiss under the bonnet.
I have ran the basic(free) version of VCDS but no fault codes showed up.

Disconnect your MAF for a bit and see how it reacts, if it holds could be on it's way out.

Regards the MAF, do they work or not work at all or is it possible for one to partially work. I ask this as sometimes my car goes like a rocket and sometimes it feels sluggish ?

Same here...have not had a MAF go in 3 years 35K miles and get the same issue so hoping a new MAF next week will breath some umph back in :) curious to know the answer to your question also!
