P0440 - p0441?

Just been chasing down these two fault codes on my '08 FR TFSI and from other posts here it looks like the Evap system is the culprit. I've already changed the N80 valve as recommended to no avail, next is to try the Carbon cannister and a modified pipe from SERE too. But seeing as the pipe and cannister appear fine (i know that doesn't mean anything) i don't want to spend another £80 on a 'possible' if i can avoid it. Otherwise would be replacing the petrol cap?

Speaking to my local independent who seem's fairly knowledgeable he's recommended me to an auto electrician as he thinks it could be a sensor gremlin but i'm dubious?!

The recently had a camblet change if that's of any relevance and i have brimmed the tank before and the CEL light came on a couple of days after. Never had trouble brimming a car before this.

I had the light come on a while back and a quick scan led me to this issue. I cleared the error and the light does not come back, but the code appears in the memory. I stopped brimming the tank, but have done nothing else as yet.

I might just bite the bullet and get the canister replaced, it is the most likely culprit and the local specialist recommended to get it done, rather than chasing individual parts.

O.K. i got myself a new Carbon filter and pipe from Dave at SERE now before i fit it would it be wise to the codes cleared at the same time or will the car clear the light itself (assuming that is the problem)?

Thanks.

Mine cleared itself after a few miles of driving Andy

Thanks, Think it might be worth just getting the codes read again just in case anyway. Hopefully it will get rid of the annoying light. otherwise next port of call is a new petrol cap.

Btw is it worth blowing down the line that goes to the tank in case there's any fuel still in it?

I never did but i suppose if your got the equipment it wouldnt hurt

By that i meant a little clear plastic tube sticking it over the nipple and giving it a blow. Ghetto technical style although my better judgement is telling me not too. Thanks for the help.
