LCR exhaust manifold

Hey guys... just wondering what is involved in taking the manifold off a bam engined lcr... I read on an audi forum the easiest way is taking off the head? I would think that's just a tad drastic to fit a new manifold? And does anyone know if it's likely to be manifold cracking or the gaskets/flexi pipe?

all depends what manifold you are fitting in replacement. it can be done without taking head off

Wanting to replace it with standard manifold but got a quote from dave at sere for £370 so I think I'll be hitting up ebay for a used one

What's involved in fitting one? Aren't they prone to cracking and I'm not sure how it would handle heat to my bonnet as I have removed the sound proofing so not sure if it would burn the paint

I think the audi guys take the head off as the 4wd system gets in the way, on ours you can get to all the mani to head bolts easily enough from underneith, no need to remove the head at all.
