I'm not particularly au-fait with the pipework under my hood, and this one has been giving me some major grief!

First the top of the pip split, so bandaged it together with a connector, pipe joiner and jubilees, and now the bottom has snapped off!!!

Unfortunately the pipe has snapped half way through the part number, so I've managed to find what I think is a match ... 06A 103 213AF

It is said to fit VW Golf Mk4 1.8T AUDI A3 TT 1.8T (Breather Hose)

Have I bought the right thing?

Thanks,
PQ

Part No. is right, it's a plastic tube that connects to the lines from the Oil Filter Housing. Part of the (ever failing) PCV system.

When mine perished and eventually snapped I decided to remove it all and fit a catch can instead :)

Thanks for the advice bobbymac420 .. literally sorted the hose on Saturday.

Was a pig to get the bottom end on, and the car owes me some skin but managed it in the end.

After all the faff - the exhaust smell doesn't come through the vents anymore, but I still get hesitation around 2,000rpm in 2nd and 3rd

I went to do the spark plugs while I was at it, and I've managed to buy an 18mm socket which is too big.

Has anyone got some fab intel on what size I need to get?

Cheers in advance :)

Cheers bobbymac420, added to the shopping list for this weekend ... if it still judders after this, I'll have to start looking in to the EGR Valve me thinks

when you say judder..at idle are the revs bouncing? Would be no harm to clean mass air flow sensor

The MAF is only 8 months old, that's the first thing I replaced.

Then (and in order);
Two way hose joint at the top of the pipe I've just replaced
Inter cooler
Turbo hose
Coil packs 2 & 3
Hose as mentioned above
Rocker gasket
Re-sealed secondary air injector
Just getting round to doing the plugs

It doesn't shudder on idle, hovers around 1200 with a almost un-noticeable twitch

I think it's a misfire I'm experiencing, it jolts under load around 2000-3000 in 2nd and 3rd, and sometimes under no load in 2nd and feels like the car is being pulled back (restricted) under load too

I'm not mechanically savvy and with a 9 month old cherub, money is tight so trying to do the best I can from advice and tutorials
