Right my front two tyres are wearing out, so a quick question regarding what tyres are best to get and what good places are there for tyres in or around Birmingham.

If your near Darlaston or Minworth then Tyretraders.

As for the best tyres then that all depends what you require longevity/grip but a best all rounder is Dunlops RT or Kumho's KU39, of which check out Longbridge Tyres..

I usually get a price off t'interweb and then go to Bannings on Lichfield Rd just off Spaghetti junction, they'll usually match or beat internet prices ( they are Black circles approved fitters anyway) the fitters have all been there years and look after your wheels. Plus, the coffee machine is cheap! :D

Online, Camskill are ideal for tyres. Very well priced.

Their individual tyre prices look good, but when you realise they don't include delivery and fitting they suddenly don't seem so great anymore.

I'm in the same boat, needing new tyres. I've always had PZeros and never had any issues, but I'm toying with GOODYEAR - EFFICIENTGRIP PERFORMANCE as they're the same price but offers better performance in the wet, quieter and apparently has less rolling resistance.

I'm surprised at some of the responses on here... Camskill Have always been the cheapest online for me (except for Tyreleader, but Camskill ship from the UK and most tyres are shipped next day delivery depending or in 2/3 days depending on what time you order)

I'll second the Uniroyal Rainsport 3's - Great grip, amazing in the wet, surprised me how sure footed they were. I changed to Continental Contact Sport 5's recently and I'd say I rate the Uniroyal's much higher!

I have had the Uniroyals previously, they are a great tyre, however I found that they didnt last very long.

My current tyres are Firestone SZ90s, they are the second set I have and I cant rate them high enough, wet and dry grip is excellent and they arealso very long wearing, they have a cool design too!!

Come in at a decent price as well....worth checking out.

When I had two new GY Asymmetric fitted, Bannings matched Camskills price ( including delivery & fitting) to within a fiver. For the sake of £5 I can't be arsed to mess about.

Added to which the service you get from a tyre shop is not great when you've purchased online without getting a price from them first, but each to their own..
