Cheers, cant wait to get the quick shifter on after trying yours, it seems to spool a bit quicker and sounds a bit louder too. I found one issue with the coil packs and that was fitting them, if you bolt the plate down first you cant get cylinder no1 in so have to unbolt the plate pull it up and then bolt in down once the coil pack has cleared the bracket above it

Took the car for what I thought was going to be a cheap 90k service and break fluid change before Christmas, how wrong was I...

I supplied the oil, filter, flush and blue dot 4 brake fluid.

Took the car to Youngs garage in Wrotham, left them the car the parts and a list of what I thought was wrong and went away in a courtesy car, around 12 o'clock got a call saying I needed, Thermostat, brake switch, drop link, CV gator and a few other little bits like missing wiper arm cap, they also done a smoke test on the intake because I felt the car was holding back a bit but nothing was found, they also checked over my exhaust system and found that my EGT sensor was loose yet a previous garage had told me it was the gasket between the cat and the down pipe, also they discovered my Cobra cat back has a crack between the cat and the back box so now need to get onto the seller to find out how I can get it replaced.

Went and collected the car in the evening and they had even washed it for me, on the drive back the brakes and the way the car drives feels a lot better, really impressed with the service and would highly recommend them.

Sound like a decent garage to go to mate, nice one. Not ideal when they find loads of things but least you know they're bang on the money. Glad the car is running well.

I was very impressed with them, just the time of year of year for the cost, also had to put 2 new rear tyres a couple of weeks before

Holdup's 05 LCR RR - 284 hp 282 lb/ft

Cars developed a fee more issues now, seriously considering getting rid of it for something cheaper and more practical.

Ordered a ECS dogbone mount and booked the car in at AMD next week to plonk that on (I know its easy to do but I cant be bothered) look at the noise from the front and also adjust the ride height and wheel allign

Also got the quickshifter on now and Its much better

Holdup's 05 LCR RR - 284 hp 282 lb/ft

A couple of months ago went to get the coilovers raised and the fronts had siezed so replaced both adjuster nuts and both top mounts inc bearings as the bearings had given up and were making a knocking noise and now raised the car to a bit more of a sensible height.

Also got front and rear arbs got the rear fitted but the front still to go on. Just adding the rear has massively improved the car it turns in so much quicker now and understeer is nearly all gone.

Whilst under the car fitting the rear arb we noticed my cobra back box and started to crack where the box meets the tail pipe, spoke with Cobra who sorted it out straight away and 2 days later a replacement back box turned up on my door step, fitted it to the car and all is well again.

And finally my latest edition is a set of Recaros

They are by far one of the best things I have added and they were a bit of a bargain too

Really happy with them cant believe it took me this long!

Removed the MAF and Throttle body today and cleaned them both up, car feels a bit smother but on another note I can hear a knocking now from the suspension, think its wishbone bushes

Got a few updates

Was on my way to see t0m To check the car with vag com when it went into limp mode it had registered 17705 - pressure drop between turbo and throttle valve check DV, cleared the code went for a drive it came back, checked again same code, Tom found a split on the n75 hoses, cut the split out and on the way home limp mode again. Replaced the n76 and DV hoses with creation motorsport ones, however limp mode still persists.

Fitted a Auto Gauge boost gauge no pod yet just cable tied it to the side pod is on order though

Ordered SFS upper boost hoses, a Airtec FMIC, 034 motorsports phenolic spacer gasket and although my Forge 008p looks ok inside and i've cleaned it and red rubber greased it a service kit.

Currently got the inlet manifold off, plans are to polish top, front and side and paint the rest black, paint the throttle body black whilst its off and today removed rocker cover to replace the gasket as it is leaking and again whilst its off paint the cover black.

Hopefully this time next week most of the work will be done

Car was still going into limp mode so checked it for codes using VAG COM, still throwing up the boost leak code and also for the second time cam sensor fault. Took the car to be looked at hoping it would be a cheap fix, but instead it came back that the timing was out by one tooth, the garage that replaced the timing belt 5 years ago before I bought the car most likely fitted it incorrectly :censored: so the belt needed replacing, it was due anyway so it was always going to happen, so I got that done and a full service at the same time, whilst the car was there it was checked for boost leaks and found that the phenolic spacer gasket I fitted was leaking massively so it was recommend that was removed, this wasnt the cause of the boost leak code as the code was appearing before the gasket was fitted. It was also noted that my car was still running a black cts so that has now been changed to a green one. Got the call to say the car was ready and it feels quicker :D however it was still limping and saying boost leak, this has been put down to the map but I wont be changing it till im ready for stage 2. But driving the car home it feels so much better, smoother and a lot quicker. Overall i'm very happy and glad its running better.

Next up is quite an exciting update (for me any way) so watch this space ;)

And a pile of stuff to do over my 4 days off

Clean
Adjust height (up)
Repaint front and rear calipers (brembo stickers havent turned up so may not happen )
Paint and fix into place jacking point cover
Fit interior LEDs
Fit missing airbag plug for passenger seat
Fit new front splitter
Sort the new rocker cover gasket (that leaks worse than old one)
Fit trackslag
Maybe attempt the leaky door seals

So from my list I managed to

Clean the car, including under the bonnet
Adjust the height up
Repaint rear calipers (brembo stickers turned up late)
Fit leds into footwells, red into dimmer switch and white into interior light
Fitted missing airbag plug for passenger seat
Fitted new front splitter
Sorted the new rocker cover gasket
Fitted trackslag charge pipe

The car now sits quite high but it feels a lot better to drive, a lot less harsh and a bit better handling, the rear calipers need another coat of paint when I went to apply another coat it started to rain a little so I decided to hold off. Really happy with the leds in the footwell not had chance to drive the car at night but they look really good and the white ones when the doors open show the footwell up nicely. Also fitted my trackslag charge pipe its a really good bit of kit, tight fit but miles better over the forge one I had fitted, makes the forge look cheap

Changed the map today.

Been having issues recently with my AMD stage 1 (possibly because of the additional hardware upgrades) gone for a Revo stage 1 tweaked to suit, the car now boosts less and isnt as quick but its not as aggressive either. Decided that next will be Revo stage 2, although I do not have a dp and sport cat (yet) the stage 2 map will be adjusted to suit and then adjusted again once the dp and sport cat goes on. Cant wait

Thanks!

The guy that I get to do all the hard mechanical work and new mapping for my car told me about it, he was breaking the guy he runs his business with Golf PD150 and asked if I knew anyone who was interested in it so I snapped it up. Need to get it out that box now, get mine overhauled swap diffs over and sell that box
