What tyre pressure are you using?

My door sticker says 2.3bar front and 2.4bar rear.

Just wondering what others find to be the best?

I have a petrol which is 100 kilos lighter so my pressures wont read across.

17 inch tyres too.

Understood, thanks.

I have 2 x Dunlop SP Sportmaxx and 2 x Nankang NS20 tyres on my car, and just for info when NS20's were on the front the ride was extremely hard, swapped the Dunlops to the front and ride much better, Dunlop tyres are very expensive here though, €135 each :(

Surprised by your positive reaction to the Dunlop SP Sportmaxx.

They are very unpopular on Briskoda and at tyrereviews.co.uk, renowned as noisy and with the Rapid/Toledo booming bodywork issue (badly adjusted hatch doors from the factory) it made for a very noisy car.

Another Factory OEM tyre is the Conti PremiumContact 2 which is quiet and hard wearing, but again expensive.

I was driving a Van for a few months before I bought the Toledo so compared to that my car is a quiet mecca

When I drive I often think that I didn't close my windows all the way. Is this what you're referring to? I drive this car 130 km daily, and I find that I have to raise the music volume fairly high because of the road noise when driving on the highway.

The car is renowned for a fair bit of road noise. Some of the OEM tyre options make it very noisy (Dunlop SP SportMaxx for sure).

The other well known cause is wind noise due to a badly adjusted rear hatch door.

Search Briskoda forums for "Skoda Rapid Booming" for explanation and cure.

I have the Dunlops on it for now as they seem to grip well and are wearing well for a Diesel.
When I need to change them I will be getting my local tyre guy to put on Aelous, albeit not the exact same size tyre.

What tyres do you have Camelspyder?

OEM Conti Premium Contact 2 215/40R17

16000 miles old - Nice Ride, still quiet except on some coarser road surfaces

Rears are like new. Fronts showing slight wear on outer shoulders - just the minor grooves - all the main water channels are still fine.

I would probably have them again (depending on price clearly). but I would look at

before buying anything to be honest.
